§ 25-24. Schedule of rates and charges.

  • The charges to be paid on a monthly basis to the city for water and sewer services supplied to the below listed customers, on a regular or prorated basis, will be as follows:

    (a)

    Single metered residential accounts.

    (1)

    Each single metered residential account will be charged a water rate of three dollars and seventy-five cents ($3.75) per one thousand (1,000) gallons and a sewer rate of six dollars and twenty-five cents ($6.25) per one thousand (1,000) gallons each month for measured usage.

    (2)

    Each single metered residential account will be charged a base service fee of forty-six dollars ($46.00) each month to pay for debt service for water and sewer infrastructure, plant improvements and capacity.

    (b)

    Master metered residential accounts.

    (1)

    Each master metered residential account will be charged a water rate of three dollars and seventy-five cents ($3.75) per one thousand (1,000) gallons and a sewer rate of six dollars and twenty-five cents ($6.25) per one thousand (1,000) gallons each month for measured usage.

    (2)

    Each master metered residential account will be charged a base service fee of forty-six dollars and ($46.00) per residential unit each month to pay for debt service for water and sewer infrastructure, plant improvements and capacity.

    (c)

    Commercial, industrial and public institution accounts.

    (1)

    Each commercial, industrial and public institution account will be charged the following water and sewer rates each month for measured usage:

    *The ERU charge equals five dollars ($5.00) for each ERU in excess of one (1) ERU, as determined by the table in subsection (f) below.

    (2)

    Each commercial, industrial and public institution account will be charged a base service fee of forty-six dollars ($46.00) each month to pay for debt service for water and sewer infrastructure, plant improvements and capacity.

    (d)

    Water service customers only. Accounts for all residential customers who receive only water service from the city will be charged according to the rate for water usage listed in subsections (a) and (b) above. Accounts for all commercial, industrial and public institution customers who receive only water service from the city will be charged according to the schedule of rates table for water usage listed in subsection (c) above and the equivalent residential units table listed in subsection (f) below.

    (e)

    Sewer service customers only. Accounts for all residential customers who receive only sewer service from the city will be charged according to the rate for sewer usage listed in subsections (a) and (b) above. Accounts for all commercial, industrial and public institution customers who receive only sewer service from the city will be charged according to the schedule of rates table for sewer usage listed in subsection (c) above.

    (f)

    Equivalent residential unit. For the purpose of this article, "equivalent residential unit" ("ERU") means the number of typical single-family residential connections that a water and/or sewer connection for a commercial, industrial or public institutional utility account would be equivalent to in terms of gallons per minute of safe maximum operating capacity of the water meter, as shown in the following table:
