§ 26-3. Discharging of firearms.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person in the city to discharge any firearm, except in a shooting gallery constructed and operated in accordance with the regulations of the National Rifle Association.

    (b)

    This section shall not apply to any law enforcement officer in the discharge of his duties nor to any other person whose discharge of a firearm is justifiable or excusable at law in the protection of his life or property or in otherwise specifically authorized by law.

    (c)

    For purposes of this chapter 26, the term "firearm" means any weapon that will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel single or multiple projectiles by the action of an explosion of a combustible material; or the frame or receiver of any such weapon.
