§ 2-77. Deputy city manager.

  • [The governing body of the City of Manassas Park hereby:]

    (1)

    Designates the deputy city manager as the acting city manager, fully qualified to perform the duties of the office of city manager, in cases of the long-term absence (for periods exceeding ten (10) days), disability, death or resignation of the city manager;

    (2)

    Ratifies any and all actions taken by the deputy city manager while serving as the acting city manager;

    (3)

    Establishes a stipend to be paid to the deputy city manager while serving as the acting city manager in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per week in addition to his regular salary as deputy city manager, which regular salary shall reflect any and all adjustments for cost-of-living allowances and/or merit raises for the position of deputy city manager; and

    (4)

    Agrees that at any time when the deputy city manager is not serving as the acting city manager, for whatever reason, he shall revert back to his status as deputy city manager and shall continue to receive his regular salary as such, which regular salary shall reflect any and all adjustments for cost-of-living allowances and/or merit raises for the position of deputy city manager.
