§ 2-106. General duties.
(a)
The city clerk shall keep an accurate journal of the proceedings of the council. He shall file and preserve all papers which may come into his hands as clerk, and shall attest and publish, as clerk, all ordinances or other papers or proceedings required by the council to be published.
(b)
In addition to the books of account and records specifically provided for, the city clerk shall keep such other books and records as may be necessary to the discharge of the functions of his office.
