§ 5.5. Continuation of officers and boards.

The present mayor, members of the city council and all other officials, board and commission members shall continue to hold office until their successors have been elected or appointed and shall have qualified as provided by this Charter. The mayor and any member of the city council shall be eligible for reelection. All powers and authority conferred by this Charter shall be effective on the date of this Charter's adoption and shall be conferred on the present city officers.
